I am very proud to be the owner of Speaking Out Wagga. Speech and Drama has always been a passion of mine and I welcome the chance to share my passion with all of you.
One of my favourite things about speech and drama is to see students grow. Even the smallest achievement is still an achievement- I love seeing them blossom and reach new Personal Bests.
Our History
It all started…
Our founder, Jill Tucker, built a very successful speech and drama studio in Wagga based mainly on word of mouth. It all began in the early 1990s when Jill’s children became interested in drama. She quickly realised that she didn’t need someone else to teach them what she could teach herself. Those first lessons were held in her loungeroom with only her children and their friends.
Over time, the studio grew to have over 200 students enrolled. We moved from the loungeroom to a purpose built studio at the rear of the property.
In 2014 Jill brought Katie in as second teacher. Several years later a former student (Clare Stirrat) returned as a teacher herself.
In 2020 Jill retired and after a transition period during COVID where Clare Stirrat took over the reigns, Katie officially became the new owner and Studio Director in 2023.
In March 2023 we moved to our current location on Forsyth St, Wagga.
